Spring Roundup | life + style

Spring is the perfect time to invest in new accessories, to find a fresh new fragrance, to hunt down the perfect sandal or the most delicious scarf. As a person who's color palette consists of grey, black, white and navy...accessories are my best friend. It's how I inject a bit of style and personality into my very monochromatic wardrobe.

Some of these items are older favorites purchased a few seasons ago and some are new:

fig.1: This wallet/clutch is the perfect shade of coral/red/pink. It also fits my phone and a tube of lipgloss.

fig.2: I am in love with this Rose lip butter by Herbivore Botanicals. It smells delicious and I adore their minimalist branding. I picked it up at Lucca which is one of my favorite spots to find new to me products like this...although it can be dangerous to have a shop like this within walking distance.

fig.3: I purchased this flower hair clip at H+M ages ago and I still bring it out every spring. I think it would be very easy to make.

 fig.4: I am a girl who loves, LOVES fragrance. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it is most definitely mine. I like a varied collection that consists of small independent lines as well as designer releases. Honey by Marc Jacobs is definitely one I find myself using quite often these days.

fig.5: This small tube of Lollia handcreme in Classic Petal that I picked up at Anthropologie. I'm a sucker for anything that smells like flowers right now.  I also love their branding.

fig.6: This braided leather bracelet  was purchased locally at Velouria. The perfect mint color pairs well with all the black, navy and cream in my wardrobe and my gold jewelry.

a love list of sorts

despite all the doom and gloom surrounding us these days...this self proclaimed control freak is learning how to seriously let go. Really, it's just an illusion that we have the ability to control anything. What we do have are four seconds of freedom when we determine how we will respond. So...as long as the world keeps spinning my response is to keep on keepin on.

Orla Kiely at Target...yes I restrained myself and purchased another set of unnecessary dishtowels.


I love paper and plates...this is a lovely combo.


I will soon be in possession of this very cool poster.



The How design annual. Need I say more.



Is this the last issue? I don't know. I just want to cradle it in my arms a bit longer before I devour it.

Good Things

So after spending a bit of time on Martha's website yesterday I figured if she could do it so could I, therefore, welcome all to the first installment of what will become a weekly post called none other than the already taken but quite appropriate..."Good Things" I think I will amend it a trifle and refer to it as 3 good things since I really can't name every good thing out there every week. What would all the other bloggers do? I will choose certain areas be it home decor, fashion, crafts, youtube...whatevs and showcase a few things that I like. I know, I know, I'm not the only gal on the planet that does this... but the fact is I can't help biting ideas that I think are really good.

Which brings me to this...

In homage to my husband...the best idea guy I know. here are 3 good IDEAS:


I think chalkboards are fab. I also adore functional things that hang. At last...the hanging chalkboard. The portability alone makes it a wonderful idea

if you've never heard of Spoonflower...they are a great little company that gives a group of carefully chosen crafters the ability to turn their illustrations and designs into fabric.
