Spotlight::Washi Tape

 I will admit to being just a wee bit wild about washi tape...was the enough "W's" for you:)

But for real, I am. Ever since I got that first roll of Hello Kitty tape in the red dispenser I was hooked. It was 4th grade and the Sanrio store was like a little slice of Japanese heaven. Trust me...before Sushi...Sanrio was all the rage. I guess it still sort of is judging from the bedazzled kitty that hangs around my niece's neck. It's nice to know that good things find a way to stick around.

I remember several years ago the only thing Washi I was aware of was the delightful Japanese paper. Then an explosion happened. I stumbled on a random blog that led me to another random site called Happy Tape. I certainly wasn't the only one who stumbled since the colorful adhesive has found it's way into some very cool and creative projects...from scrapbooking to home decor.

My washi obsession has led to me snagging a few rolls every time I visit a new paper boutique...that can be just a little bit hard on my pocketbook. Thankfully, there are quite a few options to download digital washi...which is perfect if you just want a snippet.

Speaking of snippets...I decided to create a Bananafishstudio download and give it away for FREEEE.
You guys know my love of all things faux...so how's about Faux Washi? Why not. Just download the pdf onto *white adhesive backed paper (I get mine at Staples) and go to town. You can rip it, snip it or whatever else you like. If you don't have a color printer, or you just don't want to bother...it will be showing up in the shop pre-cut and ready to go very soon.

So go get yourselves some  Faux Washi and have a little fun. If you want to snag the real deal...visit here for some of my favorite.

*keep in mind, different printers may yield different results
