the day after...

It's only the next day but I miss my birthday already. Keith treated me to a delightful dinner at West. This beautiful restaurant sits high atop the city in the old round Holiday Inn right off the 405 on Sunset. It resides in what is now the newly renovated Hotel Angeleno. Chosen as one of the 95 hottest restaurants from around the world by Conde Nast Traveler magazine. This quiet and romantic eatery boasts floor to ceiling windows and a magnificent view of the city. I ordered the 10 oz filet mignon and Keith had the sea bass. We topped it off with molten chocolate cake and a few scoops of vanilla bean ice cream. (I just reread what I wrote and I think my copywriter husband is beginning to rub off on me, it reads a bit reviewish and over the top...but i'm gonna leave it). I wanted to take pictures, and believe me, I tried...but I can't get my new little canon to take good shots in low light situations and I despise flash...I'm kinda missing the old 5mp kodak. I should probably read the manual...why can't things just work perfectly out of the box?

Speaking or writing rather about things out of the box. My Cuttlebug works beautifully. I went and bought some more CB stuff today...this little contraption is such fun...here's a few experimental pieces...the embossing folders work like a charm. It's a relatively new product for Provo Craft so I'm eager to see what designs they release next.

I also procured some new paper and stamps recently...thanks to my visit to the Oasis for Jamie's last workshop. I cannot say enough nice things about her. I got three layouts done and some super cute product so I guess 1 1/2 hours on the 405 on a friday was worth it.

In case you didn't know the new Garden bloomed on Monday. I have to say I'm starting to get used to the new format. I just keep telling myself...change is good! Here are a few of my faves...

love the simplicity of this page by Jennifer

love the texture and artistry of this page by Emily

love how clean and graphic this is...and the idea of cutting
through the chipboard is great (also by Jennifer)

Happy Belated Birthday! Sounds like you and dh had a wonderful evening out. The photos of "West" are wonderful. I can't believe all the windows. I just got a new Canon last night and really have to read the manual. Not sure I'm going to like it. But it will do for now until Christmas.
Have fun with all your gifts!

I love that cuttlebug embossing folder! Did you just use it on the corner or is it a corner folder?

Your layouts are just gorgeous!!!

Happy belated Birthday!

I love my Cuttlebug, it is supposed to be my Christams gift but I have already taken it out of the box and played with it.

Those are great stamps too.
