remember that beyond the basics knitting workshop I was taking at Knitch? Well, I officially graduated on Monday...and guess what? I'm not really feeling very beyond anything. That shouldn't reflect poorly on the instructors, both Cate and Nell were fabulous rather it is a testament to the fact that I'm not very dexterous nor am I nearly as smart as I think I am.

Perhaps it has to do with the fact that I waited too long in between the second and third class. They are scheduled to take place a week apart. Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend the final class and wasn't able to make it up until Monday, about a month later. It suffices to say I forgot the difference between yarn overs and slip slip knits and K2's and you name it, I forgot it. PLUS...I had no clue we would have to transition to 5 needles. FIVE. I took that picture and five needles just doesn't look right. Don't even ask about lace patterns and cables. Yes....it was included in our instruction. No...I don't get it. I do get the yarn overs involved in the lace and the pulling forward of stitches for the cables. I just can't apply it.

The good news is I finished the hat. The bad news...it looks crazy. The end.

As for American Idol....I am the lone voice of dissension....well, not lone, but I cannot STAND Adam's screeching. I know, I know it's very rock and roll. Fact is I won't be buying either record so I suppose it doesn't matter. Does my use of the word "record" suggest I'm too old to know what I'm talking about? Probably.
