friday foursome | knitting

One subject.
Four favorites.

I thought that it could be fun every so often to round-up a few things that represent more than just items I want...but a nice little variety of things relative to my favorite past times.

Today's Friday foursome are all about knitting.

love it: I mainly knit in neutrals so this Sparrow palette by Quince + Co. would be a nice change.
visit it: Tolt Yarn and Wool, just outside of Seattle, is not only my favorite shop, but I love their blog.
want it: I am still pretty much obsessed with tote bags especially this one by Fringe Supply Co.
make it: This light summer shawl pattern by Whits Knits would be perfect for evenings in the PNW.

Have a lovely Weekend.

post minus pic

sadly, this blog has been a bit neglected of late. Forgive the few and far between posts but I am still trying to get things together in my new home. Here's a rundown on the latest and greatest haps in the relatively uninteresting but quite contented life of moi

still unpacking and arranging the studio...almost done

doing a little cleaning (as in toilets) ugh

a bit of work thrown in for good measure

found another box belonging to another room...therefore more moving about to make space for said box

thinking about the type of art I want to hang on the walls...self made or self bought

still need to purchase a dresser, a desk for the side room (the small area off the living room), a nice big comfy chair for the sun room, and a tv for the bedroom.

all of those things are wants not needs...except for the dresser...I really feel as though I need that

finished three books since I've been in Atlanta...two were rereads, the other was a lovely historical romance and the current is Airframe by Crichton...picked it up at a goodwill in Cali

feeling the itch to get crafty already...Valentine's day is right around the corner

Wanting to dispose of all my unwanted supplies but have no desire to pack and ship...

still have to ship quite a few things...including part 2 of my mom's christmas gift and my father-in-law's gift that he already opened but didn't take.

I miss having UPS so close by...perhaps I'll request one grand pickup and be done with it all

that's it from my neck of the woods

on the loss of mojo...

I had intended to write a lengthy blog post commemorating the start of a new year. Something insightful and witty. But...somewhere between napfest 2009 and the Aquarium...I lost it.

My mojo that is.

I know. It's only the second day of the year and and I've already lost something. But here is a bit of what I remember:

my word of 2009 is: simplicity
Not surprising...but important. I am the maker of mountains out of molehills and this year I just want to relax and be happy with what I am and what I have. Novel idea huh?

I also will embark on what I've decided to call "30 crafty minutes" inspired by Rachael Ray and her thirty minute meals. Just simple inexpensive ingredients for creating a wide range of crafty paper projects. This will be a weekly thing and may grow to include more than just paper.

A different approach to photography. I didn't do so well with project 365 because honestly while I enjoy the mundane, I don't always care to photograph it. So I think I will approach it from a weekly perspective and be a bit more discerning in regard to the things in my life I deem worth documenting. This might be worth looking into.

And that's really it. No resolutions...just another year of trying to eat better, live better, love better and swear less.

packing vs. anything else

I wish that all my boxes could be so neatly packed and tied up in a bow...but alas, such is not the case. I am having a terrible time getting motivated. Case in point...i could be packing rather than blogging right now.

But I'm not.

My mom would say..."i think it's because you don't want to go."

the truth:

i don't want to pack.

I decided to begin with the studio and my goodness gracious...I have no words.

None.

I do have packers who are set to come the day prior to moving, but I'm not letting them anywhere near my crafty accoutrement.

but that may change.

Maybe I need a mixed tape...something with a moving theme.
